The Omnia Insights #28
đź‘Ť Look Beyond the  “Greats” Fad, Embrace the Power of Consistency
What do your employees want? The question is perhaps more relevant as ever as The Great Resignation sees no signs of slowing down. A McKinsey survey conducted last month puts the number of U.S. employees who are considering quitting their jobs right now at 40%. But, does considering mean actually leaving? The more relevant question would be to ask why employees are considering leaving rather than whether they are considering leaving.
Survey after survey says employees are looking for more location-agnostic working, opportunities for learning, growth, and development, and work-life balance. So, this is actually suggestive of a great “reprioritization,” not a great resignation. It shows employees are taking time to reprioritize, which may not lead to resigning.
If leaders approach the situation with care, organizations might be able to capitalize on these newfound priorities to not only retain employees but attract new ones. On that note, in this issue, we tell you all there is to know about The Great Reprioritization, how to manage and motivate employees, and who is accountable for employee retention.
Setting aside all the terminologies of the “greats,” now is the time for leaders to build a culture of listening to their employees consistently, understanding their motivators and triggers, and giving them not just more, but meaningful growth opportunities. And a failure to do so might instigate a mass exodus!Â
