Recent studies predict that only 50% of knowledge workers will return to the office again full-time, while the other 50% maintain remote work at least part-time. This will not only dramatically change the way we work, communicate, and collaborate; it would also impact the role of leadership in a hybrid future. 

Leadership is the vital cog in the team-engagement wheel, getting people proficient at working together virtually while balancing connectivity, mental health, and team camaraderie. The skills needed for being a leader of a remote team or virtual workplace aren’t much different from those needed for traditional work settings; they’re just applied differently.   

Now is the time for leaders to stretch themselves and adapt to new ways of working. They do not need to have all the answers, but they do need to be brave enough to ask the questions, really listen to the answers, and uplift their teams.
