The Omnia Insights #16
The Employee Lifecycle Series & New Client Dashboard
Do you know a simple way to create a powerful and sustainable competitive advantage for your company? It begins with maximizing the time your talent spends with you!
Yes – the concept of employee engagement and experience has been around for several decades now. But most companies still haven’t progressed beyond annual employee surveys to gauge how connected their people feel towards the workplace and improve engagement, in turn. This is why we turned our focus this month toward optimizing the Employee Lifecycle.
A Qualtrics study finds that globally, only one in two employees feel engaged in their work and are willing to stay with a company that cultivates a positive employee experience. Study after study shows companies that provide a great employee experience outperformed the S&P 500 by 122%. Companies often spend a lot of energy upfront to recruit and hire the best fit, but how much attention is paid once the new hire has onboarded? That’s where engagement and retention come in. By focusing on the entire employee lifecycle, instead of one part, you’ll get the best out of everyone on your team throughout their time with you.
On that note, in this issue, we show you how “we practice what we preach” and use personality insights to manage our own employees’ lifecycles by sharing the story of our employee Tony Curtachio – he has stayed and grown in various roles for 25 years! In addition, our marketing program manager Kristen Riley brings a millennial’s view on what they want from a career and shares stories from her past job experiences.
We also bring an overarching leadership perspective from Keather Snyder with a guideline for optimizing each phase of your employees’ lifecycles – from hiring through retirement. In our interactive webinar, Tonya DeVane further builds upon those optimization tips with insightful strategies and shows you how behavioral assessments can help.
Building a positive employee lifecycle is certainly not an overnight journey, but it is a journey that you must embark on today or be at risk of losing out on your best talent. Especially in these times of “Great Resignation”! See you next month with lessons about soft skills that your schools don’t teach you.

While school taught us a lot, the main focus was on hard skills. Hard skills are specific abilities, or capabilities, that an individual possesses and demonstrates in a measured way. Skills like math, typing, software applications, and computer expertise are learned and measured. Soft skills are secondary and harder to measure. These include a combination of personality traits, behaviors, and social attributes that allow people to do things like communicate effectively, collaborate, and successfully manage conflict.
